Free Music - Limited Time

All live releases on BLDGs bandcamp page are FREE until MIDNIGHT!

The time has come to pump up the prices.  But not by that much.  Tonight at midnight we will be raising the Live Series releases on our bandcamp page from "pay what ya want" to $5.  Why?  Because we've been getting a lot of traffic, which we really appreciate, but the goal was to help local Seattle bands make some extra cash, and being that most of the downloads are coming in w/ a "0.00" in the price column, we don't really think that's all that fair to the awesome people in said bands.

With all that in mind, we are giving you until midnight tonight to take advantage of this 'pay what ya want" fiasco that bit us in the ass so politely.  After that, the $5 will be the minimum price you can pay.  However!  With all that in mind, if you want to pay more for the records, a $10 or more donation will get you not only the live recording in digital form but also a really cool poster from our collection for you to hang on your wall!  Or music room, or beer drinking room, or bar, or kitchen, or car, or butt, or WHATEVER!!!

A quick run down:
$5 - digital download - all money after PayPal expenses goes directly back to band
$10 - digital download & super awesome cool poster - $5 goes back to band
anything more than $10 - digital download, super awesome cool poster, and our love and kisses - all money split evenly with bands

Now, that's kinda a awesome deal, yeah?

I wanna get digital, di-gi-tal

If you've been to the BLDGs bandcamp page then you know that we have a collection of live releases from bands around the Seattle area and a bit beyond.  If you haven't been to the bandcamp page yet then we would like to strongly encourage you to go check it out this week!

We've had a great deal of traffic over the last few months plus a good amount of downloads,  and as you may or may not know, all the money generated from purchasing the live recordings goes directly back to the bands.  The releases are set to "pay what you want" with the hopes that those who can, will put in an amount that is comfortable for their given budget. However, do to the high traffic count and the countless downloads with "$0.00" put in the amount window, it defeats the purpose of actually being able to give back to the bands.  So, what does this mean?

Well, we have decided to go ahead and put a minimum amount of $5.00 for each of the live releases.  We love that we are helping get bands we believe in out to a larger audience, and to watch them be shared with places as far away as the UK, Germany, and Spain is mind blowing to us.  However, the purpose of the live releases was to help the bands generate more income for their talents, art, and hard work.

We are also going to allow you to pay more for each release if you are of the mind to do so, and give you a bit of a reward for doing so.  If you choose to pay $10.00 or more for any release on the BLDGs bandcamp you will also be mailed a very special BLDGs logo poster, or one of our many collage posters we have made over the last few months.  Don't know about the posters already?  Color me surprised!  We haven't actually mentioned them in official terms, until now, and we will have the posters up later today for you to click through.  Why $10.00?  For printing, packaging, & shipping fees, and also to make sure that each band still gets their 5 bones from the deal.

You might be asking to yourself, "When is all this going to take place?"  EXCELLENT QUESTION!!!  The live releases will remain "pay what you want" until 11:59pm, Sunday, Nov. 11th.  Starting Monday, Nov. 12th all live releases will switch over to the $5.00 minimum with the option to pay more if you can/want to.

Hopefully, you still love us, and if you have any thoughts or comments on our decision to make this change, please, feel free to let us know!  contactBLDGs@gmail.com  if you think you have an idea that can improve on ours we'd love to hear your suggestions.

Get With It!

The Tough Shits Interview, shot live from our cutting room, is now up in the Video section!  Go check it out now! Audacity also stopped by not too long ago and did an In Studio performance and Interview which will also be posted to the Video section very soon.

radioBLDGs is in full swing, and we are talking with a few different people about having a variety of shows so you don't have to listen to the same music over and over and over and over and... you get the point.  More on that later as details emerge.  Right now, however, you can tune in and listen to live performances and records that have been either cut here in the studio or recorded from some of the best venues Seattle has to offer.  Our main goal with the station is to showcase the talent of bands, both local to Seattle and beyond, in hopes of creating a space where you, the user, can come and find music you might have previously overlooked.  So, copy the code and paste it into your music player URL finder.  Usually this option can be found in the "File" section, but you might have to dig a bit...  we are still trying to create a player for the website to make it easier to click and play.  So please hang in there, it's coming.

Telemesser is getting closer and closer to finishing up the recording of their new record and it's gonna be so MINT when it's all said and done.  Also, Telemesser member, Ross Marshall, has big news as his other band, Onono's, will be releasing a cassingle on Trench Art Records!  Congrats to both Ross and the band!!!  We can't wait to get our grubby little mitts on it.

Check out Trench Art Records here: Blog

That's it for now.  GET WITH IT!!!

The Audacity In-Studio, Tough Shits Live Release

We are getting super pumped around here to have Burger Records artist The Audacity in for a live performance & interview tomorrow!  They are currently on tour with Big Eyes and are going to be here in Seattle tonight at The Comet!  We are building up our questions for these traveling troubadours but we also want to hear from you.  Send us your questions either through here, our Facebook, or Twitter account and we'll make sure they are answered!

Also, Tough Shits have agreed to let us post their In-Studio performance from last Saturday to the BLDGs bandcamp page so be on the look out for that in the coming days.  For 5 bucks you can get their performance plus the interview and if we can get it all figured out, we will also send you a video of the interview.  Believe us, you won't wanna miss it.  These guys are SEX-Y!

On the bandcamp tip, we have been getting a lot of downloads of the live sets, but because they are set to "pay what ya want" not a lot a of people are actually paying anything!  We would like to kindly remind you that all money made from the downloads goes directly back to the hands and wallets of the bands.  So PLEASE, donate a buck or 2!  They will thank you for it:)

Until next time kiddos!  BANG-A-RANG!!

Tough Shit!

Today marks an epic milestone for BLDGs.  Today we will be inviting in The Tough Shits to come and rampage in our humble abode as the inaugural radioBLDGs live performance and interview.

So who are the Tough Shits?  That's a great question.  We have no IDEA!  However, we can tell you from listening to their Burger Records releases "Prick Up Your Ears", a collection of songs from 2007-2008, and their S/T release that these hombres are all about the music.  For us, that's all we need to go off of.  Oh, and they are some how involved w/ Pop Zeus.  So, that will be something to delve deeper into.  Plus a couple questions about life on the road.

Want more?  Tune in to radioBLDGs at 6pm today (OCT 20th 2012 for all you kids from the future)

Got questions for the band?  Hit us up on twitter, @_BLDGS_  Or the ol' FB! our FB home

Playing Catch Up

So we aren't the hottest at keeping up with keeping you up on what's going around these parts, but we have vowed to DO BETTER!!!

Since last we typed a bit of action has happened.  So, buckle up because we have a lot to cover.

Tellemesser, synth-punk gods, have started recording their new record, and based off of the rough tracks this is gonna be one monster Sci-Fi behemoth of punk carnage!  In case you aren't hip to the awesome jive that is Telemesser, this isn't the first time these amazing dudes have been around the block.  With members from Coconut Coolouts, Strange Boys, The Intelligence and other amazing garage/party/punk/freak/banger bands these boys know how to freak your brain, and believe us... they are going to freak your brain.

MTNs came by for about a week or so to do some mixing with Taylor Carroll at the helm and we gotta say THIS RECORD IS GOING TO KILL!!!  Look for it to come out on Trench Art Records... we think:)

You may or may not have heard that BLDGs recently hosted an awesome party for GGNZLA record's new line of cola, lovingly known as GGNZLAcola.  Each flavor comes with a different download code of some super sick bands and we were so happy to be a part of it!  As part of the festivities GGNZLA invited a few local degenerates to play their swag tunes at the studio.  Bands included:  Don't Talk To The Cops, Ziskis, Branden Daniel & The Chics, T.v. Coahran, Monarchies, Ubu Roi and L'atomium.  Get the cola and the downloads here:  GGNZLA

Speaking of L'atomium, we also have his (Luke Beetham of Seattle's Pony Time) set from the GGNZLAcola party up on the BLDGs bandcamp along with others!  Others you ask?  Well, recently we went on a little road trip down the west coast and we got a super sweet recording of LA based band Bodhi and they allowed us to put the set up for download as well.  As if that wasn't enough we took a trek down Tacoma way and recorded a very beautiful, haunting even, performance by Circadies.  We have a few more sets still pending from some SERIOUSLY BOOMING bands so keep your ear out for those when they get here.  For now, follow this link to get the above mentioned set's in all their glory.  Remember, every dollar you put towards these killer sets by these KILLER bands goes right back to the bands.  KILLLLLLERRRRRRR!!!  Get The Live Sets!

In other BLDGs bandcamp news, fearless leader and kinda sorta the only person who does stuff around here (yeah maybe he's typing this and yeah, maybe he's currently typing in the 3rd person) has been releasing some solo works under his last name.  Schroeder.  So, you know, a little shameless self promotion.  Or should I feel shamed...  Who cares!  Buy them ya NERDS!!!

On to the radio front!  We've been dinking with kinda playing a few hour sets here and there and, yes, we know we have been promising you a shit ton more than what we have delivered, but now it's time to put the pedal to the metal and rock this hog!  What's that mean for you the listener?  Well, how about live sets from bands from all around the country and interviews to boot?  Yeah, that's right.  We've already got a few lined up as well and you can be looking forward to those as soon as Oct 24th.  Who could these first guests be?  We'll let ya know very soon.  It's kinda awesome:)  We've also gotten tons of great records from a certain Fullerton based label who shares it's name with our fave food (and no, it's not pizza) and we will be cranking those records out VERY SOON!!!

We thinks that might be it for now.  Live recordings, MTNs, Telemesser, Radio, GGNZLAcola...  Well, this is exactly why we need to stay on top of this here blog!  If you've been by the studio and we didn't mention you above let us know!

On that note, you can now look forward to weekly updates from the big blue beautiful BLDGs!  Until next time, stay sassy you FREAKS!!!

"Finish what you've started brother"

Remember that time when Christian Slater was laying against the tree, injured both physically from being whipped on his back and emotionally from the pain of letting down Kevin Costner?  Yeah, that's how heavy it's been around these parts lately!

We've had a lot of amazing musicians through these hallowed hallways of late and there seems to be more upon the horizon!  Two Loons For Tea have been in and out each week writing for their next record, BLDGs went off site and helped record drums for Wimps at their home base and got them in the studio to record guitars, bass, and vox!  Mixing to come, so be on the look out for a new Wimps record soonish plus a tour!

We've been heavily backed up on the Live! tracks and hopefully in the coming days will be able to get more of those up on the bandcamp and into your hands.  We were lucky enough to be able to take a trip down the West Coast not to long ago and record some awesome bands like Bodhi, Wild Ones, Slumber Party, and L.A. Font just to name a few.  So be on the looking out!  Remember when you download these amazing live sets that all the money goes back to the bands so be generous with your Washingtons.  A little bit goes a long way in this new cruel world.

There's other news on the burners, but we'll let those eggs fill you tummy for now.  Keep your ear to keyboard and keep checking back for news, updates, and amazing beautiful things!

Live! Series Launched

Check it out!  Click on the Download section above and you'll be redirected to where you and all your friends can download live sets from all of our favorite bands!

Here's how it works.  Downloads are set to "pay what you want" with money made from downloads going right back into the hands of the bands.  The more you spend, the more they make!

You may also notice that some of the Live! sets have songs that are not titled.  This is because some songs in the set are UNRELEASED!  Woah!  Never before heard, recorded, or even dreamed songs right here for you to take home and swoon and love and marry!

So download a couple of records and be generous with your Washingtons!  The bands will thank you for it.
